The arts of coupling, intimacy and love are embedded in humanity.
“Until you heal your past, your life patterns and relationships will continue to be the same; it’s just the faces that change.” - Grace Jones
We all know, or many of us know, that intimate relationships bring out the best and the worst in ourselves. It’s like a cosmic mirror for the soul, showing us all the places where we are still crazy or could use a little work.
As a couple’s counselor, I help clients gain perspective to unglue and demystify claustrophobic conflicts.
As a counselor and a third party I witness, observe, reflect and communicate so that clients’ unexpressed fears, resentments and doubts can begin to breathe and be supported.
I teach clients to take increasing responsibility for their emotions, thoughts, actions and intentions to help them create integrity, well-being and honesty.
This process can invite deep inner conflicts to surface and be processed, resolved and let go of.
My work is informed by Attachment Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness-awareness. It is trauma-sensitive, and open to all people.
I also emphasize Loving Kindness Practice, or Metta Meditation, as a healing balm for the sore spots and constrictions on our hearts.
